The Virginia Orchid Society is very pleased to once again have Strange's Florist & Greenhouse on West Board Street to be the host venue for our 2010 AOS Show & Sale, February 26-28. The large greenhouse area with natural lighting will showcase the plants at their best. New this year there will be a gala party on Friday night with the admission fee of $5. All of the displays will be judged earlier in the day and the awards will be there for you to see. This year's theme of the show is "Orchids in Paris".
Exhibitors and vendors from several states will be there. Artwork for show and sale will compliment the event. Seminars will help educate vistors to the exciting world of orchids.
Exhibitors should be aware of the following information!
Power Requests
Exhibit lighting isn't really necessary for the daylight hours of the
show. However, supplemental lighting may be necessary for proper viewing
during the evening Show Gala. PLEASE request power for your exhibit
before show setup day!
Plant Number Labels
Plants will only be labeled with uniform plant labels as per the show
exhibit rules. There will be no separate labels showing plant number this
time around. Please make sure your labels are legible. The judging
clerks will appreciate this!
Show Party/Gala
The show party will be held on Friday evening instead of Thursday
following show setup. Show setup is hectic enough for all of us plus it
is a weekend night and we are hoping for more attendance.
